Rule Changes:

For 2016,  there will be 2 Western Dressage awards.  Intro and Basic will be combined for one award category, Levels 1, 2, and 3 will also be combined.  This may change in the future if entries warrant.

• A horse MUST compete in and finish a ride at the highest test offered for the level.
• At least (1) one of the (5) five tests submitted must be at the highest test of the level.

• Submit (5) five scores from the same level test AND
• Must be from at least (3) three different competitions AND
• Must be from at least (3) three different USDF/USEF or WDAA dressage judges.

You can submit tests from 2 consecutive levels to reach the 5 tests required,  but one of the tests  must be the highest test of the highest level.   Western Dressage Association of America tests only.  (WDAA)

Scores may be earned at Open schooling shows, WPCSA shows, and/or WDAA shows.  Judges must be USDF “L” Graduates, OR WDAA approved, OR USEF Dressage “r”, “R”, or “S”.

The  Welsh obtaining the highest median percentage from its top
five scores will be the winner of the level. To find the median of  five scores, list the scores in
order of percentages earned, from highest to lowest. The middle, or third score, is the median
score. Therefore, be sure to send the five highest scores the horse earned during the  year that
meet the above requirements. Entries should list all five scores on WPCSA Open Competition Entry Form E and have a copy of the cover page from each of the five tests attached.

The cover sheet must clearly show the name and date of the competition, judges name and signature, points and final score percentage.

HALTER RULES FOR THE WPCSA OPEN PROGRAM

For 2016, Halter will now have it’s own award. Since this is an Open Halter award, there will only be one award and all sections, A,B,C,and D, as well as half/part-breds may compete. For the time being, submit results on the Show program form. Any halter results will be pulled out and tabulated separately. The rules remain the same as for any of the Show program subsections.
